World Encounter would not exist without financial contributions from our donors. Your financial support allows World Encounter to offer microlending and programming to the women in rural Tanzania. Recurring and one-time donations are appreciated at any amount.
What makes our microloan program strong, is we require each participant to participate in a 10-women success circle. These success-circles meet monthly for three years to provide support and mentorship to each other. They also cross guarantee the repayment of each other's loans. Each woman receives three-microloans and business coaching, an investment of approximately 1,800 U.S. dollars per participant.
We believe money alone won’t solve the challenges faced by the women we serve. So with each microloan we provide to a woman in Tanzania, we also provide (and require) business coaching with the peer-to-peer Success Circle.
The result: 100% loan repayment success rate and a strong foundation for the businesses of our clients.
In rural Tanzania, we lead a microloan and mentoring program focused on supporting women in 14 villages across rural Tanzania. We currently have over 700 active program participants, provided over 12,000 microloans and have served 4,000 Tanzanian women.
We have a goal of serving 10,000 women by 2030.
